NEWS AND ACTION

CambsWomen Together will challenge Cambridge City Council on its policies, and their interpretation of the law where it is necessary to do so to protect the rights of women and girls. We will hold councillors to account, ensuring the language and meanings attached are clear and that information given to staff via ‘equality’ training pertains to the recognised protected characteristics set out in the Equality Act 2010 and that the training is free from ideological bias and misinformation.

We will work to achieve constructive engagement with the council and to establish CambsWomen Together as a ‘go-to’ group involved in all consultation where the consequences will impact on women and girls.

Councillors have a duty to listen to and consult residents about policies that will have a significant impact.

If you would like to get involved in any of our work, if you are concerned about any issues that are affecting your rights or those of your children, please get in touch through our Contacts page.
